By accessing the website, using the game-selection tool, reading our content, or using another website feature, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the website.
Our Privacy and Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, and Copyright, Trademark and DMCA Policy should be read together with these Terms where they apply to your use of the website.
If you are not legally able to accept these Terms in your country, you may use the website only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where applicable.
About Check Can I Run It
Check Can I Run It is a free informational website focused on PC games, recommended system requirements, gaming performance, processors, graphics cards, memory, storage, operating systems, graphics technologies, and related PC gaming topics.
Our checker allows a visitor to search for and select a PC game. The resulting page provides the recommended hardware and software requirements available for that title, together with information about the game where available. The website does not require an account, login, paid subscription, or payment to use the checker or read our public content.
Check Can I Run It does not provide game installers, cracked software, ROMs, activation keys, executable game files, or unauthorised copies of copyrighted games. Visitors are responsible for obtaining games and software from lawful sources and complying with the terms of the relevant developer, publisher, store, launcher, or platform.
How the Can I Run It Checker Works
The checker does not scan, inspect, benchmark, or analyse your computer. It does not detect or access your processor, graphics card, RAM, storage drives, installed games, drivers, Windows configuration, or files.
You are not required to enter your own PC specifications. You select a game, and the checker displays the recommended PC hardware and software requirements recorded for that title. Depending on the information published for the game, these requirements may cover the processor, graphics card, RAM, storage, Windows version, DirectX support, SSD requirements, internet access, launchers, accounts, or other conditions.
The checker may also provide game information such as genre, setting, perspective, gameplay, modes, player support, graphics features, and other details relevant to the selected title. Recommended system requirements are reference specifications. Unless the source states a particular resolution, graphics preset, frame rate, ray-tracing configuration, or upscaling mode, we do not treat those performance targets as guaranteed. Because the checker does not inspect your own computer, its results should not be interpreted as a personalised benchmark or a direct test of your PC.
Sources and Editorial Research
We aim to base game requirements on information published by the relevant game developer, publisher, official game website, official store page, or another authoritative source where that information is available.
We may compare multiple sources when requirements have changed, different editions exist, or published information is incomplete or inconsistent. Technical documentation and credible supporting sources may also be used to understand hardware or software requirements.
We do not claim to have personally benchmarked every game, hardware configuration, patch, driver version, graphics preset, or performance scenario covered by the website.
If original testing is used in particular content, it should be identified in the context in which the testing is discussed. Information gathered from external sources should not be presented as our own direct testing.
Game requirements can change after patches, remasters, enhanced editions, operating-system changes, or developer updates. We may revise a game entry when newer or more reliable information becomes available.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, our research and presentation are independent and have not been approved by the developer, publisher, hardware manufacturer, platform, or store concerned.
Acceptable Use
You may use Check Can I Run It for lawful purposes such as researching PC game requirements, learning about gaming hardware, comparing game specifications, planning a PC build or upgrade, and considering whether a game may be suitable for a particular type of computer.
You may share ordinary links to public pages on the website. You may also quote a limited portion of our original written content when the quotation is lawful, appropriately attributed, and does not reproduce enough of the material to replace the original work.
Your permission to access the website is limited, non-exclusive, revocable where permitted by law, and subject to these Terms. Access to the website does not transfer ownership of our original software, design, written work, branding, database arrangement, or other protected material.
Nothing in these Terms restricts quotation, criticism, review, research, fair dealing, fair use, or another use that applicable law permits without our permission.
Prohibited Use
You must not use Check Can I Run It to:
- Break applicable law;
- Infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights;
- Upload, introduce, or distribute malicious code;
- Attempt unauthorised access to the website, server, database, or administrative systems;
- Circumvent reasonable security measures or access controls;
- Deliberately overload or disrupt the website;
- Send spam or fraudulent requests;
- Impersonate another person or organisation;
- Collect personal information about other visitors without lawful authority;
- Manipulate website traffic or usage statistics;
- Generate artificial advertising impressions or clicks; or
- Use the website in a manner intended to interfere with its ordinary operation.
You must not copy substantial portions of our original database arrangement or articles, reproduce complete articles without permission, systematically republish tool results as your own service, clone the website, remove ownership notices, or falsely present our original work as your own.
Automated scraping, extraction, or repeated automated requests that impose an unreasonable load, bypass technical controls, or reproduce substantial protected content are prohibited unless we have provided written permission or applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted by these Terms. Ordinary crawling and indexing by legitimate search engines that follow our published technical instructions are not prohibited.
You must not attempt to bypass rate limits or other security controls or probe the website for vulnerabilities without permission. If you discover a possible security problem, please report it through our Contact Us page and provide enough information for us to investigate it safely.
Game Requirements and Performance
The recommended specifications displayed for a game describe a hardware and software reference configuration. They do not guarantee identical performance on every PC containing similar components. Actual game performance can be affected by factors including:
- Resolution;
- Graphics settings;
- Frame-rate target;
- Ray tracing;
- Upscaling and frame generation;
- Game version and patches;
- Graphics drivers;
- Background applications;
- RAM configuration;
- Storage performance;
- Laptop power limits;
- Cooling and thermal behaviour; and
- Differences between desktop and mobile hardware.
Two components with similar product names can also provide different levels of gaming performance. A recommended specification should therefore be read together with any performance target published by the game developer or publisher. If no resolution, graphics preset, or FPS target has been published, we do not guarantee one.
Accuracy and Corrections
We work to keep game requirements, release information, technical explanations, hardware information, and other content accurate and useful.
Games are updated, official requirements can change, hardware documentation can be revised, and source material can contain incomplete or conflicting information. We therefore cannot guarantee that every item on the website will remain complete, current, or free from error at all times.
If you believe a game requirement, release detail, hardware statement, ownership reference, or other item is incorrect, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us with:
- The relevant page address;
- The information you believe is incorrect; and
- A reliable source or other supporting evidence where available.
We will review specific, good-faith correction reports and update content when the available evidence supports a correction. Submitting a correction request does not by itself establish that the existing information is wrong. We may compare the request with official or other reliable sources before changing a page.
Intellectual Property Owned by Check Can I Run It
Unless otherwise stated, original material created for Check Can I Run It, including our original written content, tool code, interface design, branding, graphics created for the website, and the original selection or arrangement of website material, belongs to us or is used under an appropriate licence.
These Terms do not give visitors ownership of that material. Factual information such as a game’s title, release information, published system requirements, hardware model names, and other third-party facts may originate from their respective sources. We do not claim ownership merely because factual information is included in our database or presented through the checker.
Any copyright or database rights that apply to our original selection, arrangement, writing, software, or presentation remain subject to applicable law. Use beyond normal browsing, lawful quotation, or another use permitted by law may require our prior written permission.
Game Names, Logos, Screenshots, and Third-Party Rights
Game names, character names, logos, screenshots, cover artwork, publisher names, developer names, platform names, hardware brands, product names, and trademarks may belong to their respective owners. References to these properties are used to identify, describe, discuss, or provide information about the relevant game, product, publisher, platform, or hardware.
Their appearance on Check Can I Run It does not transfer ownership to us. Unless expressly stated, Check Can I Run It is not sponsored, endorsed, authorised by, or officially affiliated with the developers, publishers, platforms, digital stores, or hardware manufacturers whose products are discussed on the website.
Rights holders who believe material has been used improperly should follow the procedure described in our Copyright, Trademark and DMCA Policy.
Messages, Corrections, and Other Submissions
When you send us a question, correction, suggestion, security report, or rights complaint, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are permitted to provide any supporting material included with it.
You remain responsible for confidential, personal, copyrighted, or otherwise protected information you choose to include in a submission. Sending us material does not transfer ownership of your original work unless we separately agree to that transfer in writing. You give us permission to review the submission, compare its factual claims with relevant sources, retain a reasonable record where necessary, and use the information needed to investigate or resolve the matter.
We are not required to publish a suggestion, accept a requested correction without supporting evidence, or provide individual technical support. We may decline or disregard submissions that are abusive, fraudulent, intentionally misleading, unrelated to the website, or designed to manipulate our game requirements or editorial conclusions.
Advertisements
Check Can I Run It may display advertisements to help support the cost of providing the website without charging visitors for ordinary access. Advertisers and advertising platforms do not control our game requirements or technical conclusions merely because advertisements appear on the website.
Visitors must not intentionally generate artificial advertising impressions, repeatedly click advertisements for the purpose of affecting advertising metrics, encourage others to do so, or use automated systems to manipulate advertising interactions. Advertising privacy and cookie practices are explained separately in our Privacy and Cookie Policy.
Sponsorships and Affiliate Links
Check Can I Run It may use affiliate links or publish sponsored material. If we receive compensation or another material benefit that could affect how a reasonable visitor interprets a recommendation, review, product reference, or commercial link, we will provide an appropriate disclosure with the relevant content.
A commercial relationship does not give an advertiser, seller, or affiliate programme the right to alter an independent game requirement presented as our editorial content unless the nature of the sponsored material is clearly identified. Products purchased through an external seller remain subject to that seller’s terms.
Prices, availability, delivery, warranties, licences, refunds, subscriptions, and transactions offered by external providers are controlled by those providers rather than Check Can I Run It.
External Websites and Services
Our pages may contain links to game developers, publishers, hardware manufacturers, digital stores, video platforms, driver-download pages, support resources, or other external websites.
An external link may help visitors verify a requirement or locate useful information, but the destination remains independent from Check Can I Run It. We do not control an external provider’s:
- Content;
- Security;
- Availability;
- Downloads;
- Products or services;
- Prices;
- Privacy practices; or
- Terms and policies.
You should review the relevant external terms and confirm that a purchase, download, driver, software package, or technical instruction is suitable before acting on it. A link does not amount to our endorsement or guarantee unless we expressly describe it that way.
Website Availability and Changes
We may add, correct, update, reorganise, restrict, or remove a game entry, article, tool feature, link, or other website material when reasonably necessary. We may temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security work, technical problems, legal compliance, server issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
We aim to maintain reliable access to the website, but continuous or uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. We are not required to preserve a particular game entry, design, recommendation, URL, database record, or website feature indefinitely.
Protection Against Abuse
We may restrict traffic when we reasonably believe it is being used to attack the website, conduct harmful scraping, generate artificial advertising activity, bypass security controls, send abusive automated requests, or interfere with access for other visitors.
Because Check Can I Run It does not use visitor accounts for ordinary access, protective action may involve blocking or limiting an IP address, network range, automated client, request pattern, or another technical source associated with the harmful activity.
Security measures are intended to protect the website and its visitors. They do not remove any privacy, consumer, complaint, or other legal right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
No Personal PC Diagnosis
Check Can I Run It provides general game and hardware information. The checker does not inspect your particular computer and does not determine the condition of its components.
A result should not be treated as confirmation that a specific PC will achieve a particular frame rate, graphics preset, resolution, temperature, power consumption, or level of stability.
For a decision that depends on the condition or configuration of a particular computer, you should verify the exact hardware and software involved and, where appropriate, obtain assistance from someone able to inspect that system.
Purchasing and Upgrade Decisions
Information on Check Can I Run It can help with research, but you remain responsible for deciding whether to purchase a game, graphics card, processor, RAM kit, storage device, laptop, desktop computer, or another product.
Before spending money, consider the exact product model, compatibility with existing components, power requirements, physical dimensions, cooling requirements, software support, warranty, seller terms, and return policy.
A game requirement does not by itself confirm that a particular hardware upgrade is electrically, physically, or technically compatible with your existing computer.
Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer guarantee, statutory remedy, warranty, or other right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Check Can I Run It and its operator will not be responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from reliance on general game or hardware information, temporary inability to access the website, or the independent acts of third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain unaffected. The limitations in these Terms must be interpreted according to the applicable law and the nature of Check Can I Run It as a free informational service.
You remain responsible for loss or damage that results from your intentional unlawful use of the website, deliberate introduction of malicious code, infringement of another person’s rights, or intentional interference with the service, to the extent that responsibility is recognised by applicable law.
Privacy
Our Privacy and Cookie Policy explains the information that may be processed when you visit Check Can I Run It, how Analytics and advertising technologies may operate, how cookies and similar technologies are handled, and which privacy choices may be available. Using the website does not replace any consent that applicable privacy law requires us to obtain separately.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Check Can I Run It, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or protections that apply to you based on your location.
Nothing in these Terms requires a visitor to give up a legal right, remedy, jurisdiction, or protection that applicable law does not allow to be waived by contract.
If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first with the relevant page, a clear description of the issue, and the resolution you are seeking. This allows both sides to examine the matter and attempt to resolve it without unnecessary proceedings.
This informal process does not shorten a legal limitation period, prevent either party from seeking urgent legal relief, or remove a right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Severability
If a court or other competent authority determines that a provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
The affected provision should be limited or interpreted only to the extent necessary to make it lawful and enforceable where applicable law permits that approach.
No Waiver
If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion, that does not mean we have permanently given up the right to enforce it. Any waiver applies only to the particular circumstances for which it is given unless expressly stated otherwise.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the website, checker, content, business model, service providers, or applicable legal requirements change. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated Last updated date.
Where a material change requires additional notice or another form of agreement under applicable law, we will provide that notice or obtain the required agreement.
Continued use of the website after revised Terms take effect indicates acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you should stop using the website.
Changes to these Terms do not remove rights or claims that arose before the revised version became effective where applicable law protects those rights.
